As Hippocrates professed in the very early days of medicine, the body has its own innate intelligence and when given proper nutritional support, it is capable of healing as it achieves balance or homeostasis. Choosing to eat nourishing foods is a powerful tool for reclaiming wellness and taking an active role in your health maintenance. Together we will devise a nutritional plan that best meets your needs and your Nutritional Therapist will provide guidance and support along your journey to healthier eating and more vibrancy.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Every human being has unique nutritional needs. We recommend a nutrient dense whole food diet that is tailored for your individual needs at the time of your evaluation.
The nutritional evaluation is a two part process. The first part involves completing a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire which will give us a comprehensive look at your health history, food choices, and symptoms of distress. With this information, we can proceed with a hands-on functional evaluation which will help determine more specifically what areas of the body needs support. This is non-invasive and a clothed evaluation.
How can Nutritional Therapy help you?
Nutritional Therapy emphasizes the proper preparation of real food with a focus on your digestive health when devising this individualized nutritional plan. Your digestive system works like a finely tuned orchestra with hormonal inputs from various organs in precise timing. This function begins in a parasympathetic (or relaxed) state, therefore we start from a top-down approach to find out how well your digestive system is operating in breaking down and assimilating your food. When the digestion of properly prepared nutrient dense foods is functioning more like a symphony, then the body has more raw materials to utilize in the process of maintaining wellness. It is amazing how capable your body is of healing and how it responds to the nutritional support, especially to a whole food nutrient dense diet
“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not to little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health” -Hippocrates
